Restaurants & Bars

  • SCYC is the decades-long icon and social hub of Staniel Cay with the most comprehensive array of dining options.

    SCYC DINING MENUS & FULL DETAILS

    QUICK OVERVIEW:

    • Breakfast:  Full breakfast menu for seated dining or carry-out.  No reservations required. 8:00am – 10:00am.

    • Lunch: Full lunch menu for dining room seating.  No reservations required. 12:00pm – 3:00pm.

    • Box Lunch:  Boxed lunches (e.g., for boat picnics!) are available with advance order.

    • No-Reservations Dinner: 3:00pm – 9:00pm.  Walk-in dining from the “Lunch and Casual dining menu” (aka “Bar Menu”) on the outside deck, around the bar, or in a second dining area (“Captain’s Lounge”). Available for carry-out.

    • Reservations Dinner:  Traditional seated dinner in the dining room (“Sea Level”) has a full 4-course menu and requires same-day reservations by 4pm. (Special events reserve sooner.) Typically two seatings at 6:30pm and 8:00pm. Email dining@stanielcay.com with your reservation request and Sea Level dinner order.

  • The scene of unforgettable parties, SCYC offers a full service bar, day and night!  Locals refer to it simply as “The Bar” or “The Club.”  

    QUICK OVERVIEW:

    • Bar hours are 10:00am - Midnight + for a wide array of drinks, plus many happy hours and special events. 

    • Bar Food is served Noon - 9:00 p.m. from the  “Lunch and Casual dining menu” (aka “Bar Menu”).

    • After 5:00 p.m. - Shirts, Coverups & Shoes required.

    • After 10:00 p.m. - 18+ years only.

    Adjacent to the Bar, open during daytime hours, is a gift shop and small liquor store.

    The Flyin’ Pig Café at Embrace Resort offers a bar, café restaurant, coffee shop and event/catering venue.  Bahamian owned-and-operated, Women owned-and-operated. 

    Locals flock for the traditional Bahamian specials at breakfast, such as Tuna-n-grits, Fire Engine (corned beef hash), Stew Fish and more yumminess.  See menus for representative offerings (Note: hours and menu may not be current).  

    In addition to their standard menu, FPC announces frequent meal specials and also hosts a monthly Sushi Night.

    FPC has a relaxed vibe with island-inspired tasty and creative dishes.

    • Indoor and Outdoor dining.

    • Reservations are not required, but are encouraged.  Advance orders are strongly suggested for special events. Carry-out available.  Delivery available for a small fee if staffing permits.

    • Private dining and Catering available.

    • Full Bar with creative cocktail specials

    • Coffee Bar (island-style, not a Starbucks!) and pastries

    • Located within Embrace Resort on the B&G Highway next to the airport.  From the Airport, take the first Right (B&G Highway), then Right at the Embrace Resort Fountain.

    CURRENT HOURS:  Lunch (10:30am-2:00pm) & Dinner (after 4:30pm) Monday through Friday. Bar only (no food) often opens Saturday afternoon/night and sometimes Sundays—just depends. Stop by to see!  

    • Local bar on the main Village road with tvs and music. Everyone welcome!

    • New Lunch & Dinner Service – traditional Bahamian specialties and more.  Stop by or call for daily menu and pricing. Advance food orders strongly recommended. dine-In & Carry-Out.

    CURRENT HOURS:  9:00am - 4:00pm Laundry, Monday - Saturday (Bar open later some days and for parties!) Closed Sundays.

    This combination liquor store and laundromat also has a tiny bar with chips and cookies, tv, island breeze, bartender chat and a great vibe –and fabulous handmade Bahamian purses.  The Liquormat hosts pop-up BBQs and is often THE after-hours party on the Cay spilling from the bar onto the deck and the expansive yard.  Located at bottom of big hill behind cemetery just before SCYC.

  • INCONSISTENT HOURS - Stop by!

    Staniel Cay’s newest Bar/Restaurant is a locally owned-and-operated establishment named "Bottom Line."  It is beachfront, with a dock, and located in the Village, next to the boat yard just up from the church.  It has a very local and charming Bahamian flair.  Limited menu changes daily.  Carry-out available. 

    No blended cocktails and limited wine selection, but otherwise a full bar.  Nice Bahamian or “old-school” music and an outdoor deck with tables overlooking excellent beach/water views and sunsets.  

    Note: Bottom Line has been adjusting its staffing lately, so hours have been a bit unpredictable. For now, the best bet is to swing by—you might just catch them open!

Local Meals, Snacks & Shops

  • A few local women whip up traditional and delicious carry-out meals from their home for weekday lunches at 12:00pm.  Availability changes frequently, so contact me right before your trip to find out who might be cooking while you are here and how to order. 

    Homemade lunch entrees typically include a chicken option, another meat option, and a seafood option.  Several sides are pre-set and included with choice of entrée (e.g., Bahamian mac-n-cheese, coleslaw, peas-n-rice, mixed veg, potato salad, pasta salad, green salad, etc.). Food is delicious, and portions are large. Generally $15-20 per plate.

  • Keep in touch with Staniel Cay Life during your trip for day-before and day-of announcements of all kinds of goodies such as:

    • Lolo’s bbq grill, “Da Grill Pit”

    • Big Jack’s conch salad & seafood specialties

    • Seaside Bakery

    • and others! 

  • HOURS fluctuate:  Generally, 8ish am to 10ish am, then 2ish - 5ish (when airport is busy).  

    Sales of coffee/tea, cold drinks, limited snacks, also have microwave and kitchenette.  

    Local artwork and jewelry displayed for sale. “Travel Bag boutique” sells clothes, swimsuits, hats, Bahamian tote bags, gifts and souvenirs.  

    Located at the Airport in the purple Titan Air building. Do not park in front of the Mall or at the paved airport. Park to the side.

  • 9am-ish to 6:00pm-ish, Monday to Saturday (in & out).

    Gift Shop in the heart of the Village with colorful clothing, souvenirs and island-style gifts.  Also cold beer.  Located between Church and Island Luck on the main Village road.

    PRO TIP: Often open even when “Open” sign in the window is not lit! If it seems closed, knock on the door, and someone may be in the back and can open for you.

  • Staniel Cay has three small grocery stores. Stock is dependent on the Nassau freight boat schedule (and some stores fly in supplemental stock).

    Produce, Dairy, Dry Goods, Bread, Beverages, Ice Cream, Snacks and some personal care items are available at all three grocery stores. Isle Gen also carries some household supplies and hardware store items.

    PRO TIP:  Stock varies, so check all three stores!

    • PINK – “Pink Pearl”

      HOURS:  Now through summer:  Monday – Saturday, 8:00am to 6:30pm. Sundays 8:00am-10:00am. 

      Slower season and darker winter:  Monday – Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Sundays 8:00am-10:00am.  

      Closed some days when proprietor is off-Cay.  

      Location:  Literally, the pink store in the heart of the Village, next to the pink house.

    • BLUE – “Burke’s Convenience Store”

      HOURS:  Monday – Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Sundays 8:00am-10:00am (maybe also 1:00-3:00pm some Sundays in peak season).  

      Closed for re-stocking during freight boat offloading.  

      Location:  Literally, the blue store in the heart of the Village, at the top of the steep driveway next to the blue house and blue wing apartments.

    • “ISLE GENERAL”

      1-242-355-2007

      HOURS:  Monday – Saturday 9:00am-ish to 5:00pm (occasionally close for lunch).  Closed Sundays. Has a dock for easy dinghy access. Propane sometimes available. 

      Location:  take immediate right after crossing the bridge from the airport toward South Staniel. Lower level of yellow building at end of that path.

    HOURS: 9:00am-5:00pm Every Day! Closed for lunch daily (time varies). Occasionally closed when staff is busy with boats.

    Staniel Cay Adventures has its own dive shop with ice for sale, snorkel/scuba/fishing gear, water shoes, hats, dive shirts, sunscreen, gifts, souvenirs, jewelry and more.  Snorkel and scuba gear also available to rent.

    The dive shop also offers a lending library right outside the front door—take one and leave one!

    Located on the main Village road next to Public Beach and across the street from Dog’s Bar.

  • Remember to Bring Cash! Staniel Cay does not have any ATM or bank on island. 

    Many businesses accept credit cards, but some do not.  Those who do may apply a credit card processing fee.  International fees also may apply depending on your credit card.  AMEX is NOT accepted on Staniel—bring Visa or MasterCard. 

    US Dollars are accepted everywhere on a 1:1 with Bahamian dollars. You can pay with either USD or BSD cash, and you will get a mix of both in your change!
